McPHERSON — The growing season has started.
For the City of McPherson to maintain control of broad-leaf weeds — like dandelions — in grass/turf areas, spraying is done as needed, based on assessment thresholds established by staff.
It is the City's goal to keep grass areas healthy so that weed growth is limited and does not require treatment. If weeds are present, city staff will spot spray in these areas.
This is the most efficient way to control weeds and use the least amount of pesticide. Staff started spraying all parks April 4 and will continue until April 22.
