McPHERSON — Pumping off excess water from this week’s significant weather event continues at the McPherson Water Park. While great progress on debris and storm damage has been made, work continues on the pool itself. Pumps are running as fast as possible without overloading the system.
The pool is not yet at correct depth for proper filtration to take place so that appropriate water chemistry can be reached. Until the water reaches a certain level, the system will not function properly.
Staff is working as fast as possible to return things to normal, but the safety of the pool will always remain a top priority.
There will be an announcement once the facility can open safely.
Dealing with the storm’s aftermath also has slowed progress on troubleshooting the issues with the slide, lazy river and splash pad. Those features will be delayed as well.
