Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BAZ) is comprised of seven members appointed by the Mayor and City Commission and is responsible for holding public hearings on variances and conditional uses. Action is required when projects do not strictly comply with the City's zoning requirements. Procedures include notifying property owners within 200 feet of a proposed project and publicizing the proposed project in the local newspaper. The Board of Zoning Appeals meets the first Tuesday of each month as needed, 7 p.m., at 400 E. Kansas Avenue.
