The McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) will host #Americart2019 August 25-27. The project is a one-hour documentary and six episode series about art and culture in America. Directed by the NYC artist and photographer, EFDLT Studio, #Americart2019 will be shot on location from NYC to Sonoma County. McPherson is one of ten communities invited to participate.“My goal is to reach everyday Americans, meet people and discover their intimate relation with art using my years of experience of conducting interviews as a former social worker,” said Film Director EFDLT Studio. “I am hoping for open heart discussions to collect authentic stories and personal relationships with art and culture.” All community members are invited to share their stories with #Americart2019 on Monday, August 26. MeetUp – Let’s Talk About Art will occur at Hopp’s Sno Shack from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event includes live music provided by Mac Jazz featuring Mark Casebeer and Ralph Brown from King Midas & the Muflers. Free sno cones and popcorn will be served, and community members can sign the #Americart2019 14-foot art canvas.#Americart2019 will focus on art education while visiting the McPherson area. Interviews will occur at the McPherson Museum, Maxwell Wildlife Refuge, McPherson College, Bethany College, McPherson Middle School, Arts After School and The Clayworks. “This is an outstanding opportunity to promote various forms of art education in our community,” said Anne Kirchner who is coordinating the project on behalf of the McPherson CVB. “The film will be distributed worldwide through PBS, YouTube and social media.”#Americart2019 is produced in partnership with the U.S. Cultural & Heritage Marketing Council.
