The Red Event Supports Cancer Victim

Xi Iota Epsilon Sorority, a McPherson Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, will host The Red Event on Saturday, February 9, 8 - 11 p.m., at the American Legion. Since 2015, the sorority has selected a benefactor of the event who is experiencing a personal challenge. This year's recipient is Devon Bersuch.

Bersuch was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 and had a double mastectomy surgery just days after being diagnosed. She received chemo treatments for six months followed by radiation five days a week, which she will complete soon. Her treatment will continue with a daily regimen of prescriptions and injections for 10 years with the intention to starve her body of hormones. Bersuch and her husband have three daughters, Madie (14); Rylie (11) and Sami (8). Her battle against cancer has had an impact on their daughters. Witnessing the loss of their mother's hair has been difficult.

All are invited to support Bersuch by attending The Red Event. Cost is $20 per person and includes a dance with music by DJ Chuck Collins of Double C. Light appetizers and a cash bar will be available. For more information, call 620.245.1695 or 620.242.3902.
