The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Tehama, LLC, an environmental consulting firm based in Kansas City, Missouri, are teaming with the City of McPherson Public Works Department to complete an engineering study on the Dry Turkey Creek Drainage Basin. The drainage study is supported by a federal grant program, which provides funding to assist states in the preparation of comprehensive plans for the development, utilization and conservation of water and related land resources. Total cost for the study will not exceed $170,000 and will be supported equally by the federal grant and City funds.Turkey Creek Drainage Basin is located in the southeast district of the City. The two-week study begins Thursday, September 27, during which time local residents will encounter drainage survey crews throughout the City. Crews will be identified with the Tehama, LLC logo. Survey results will help identify future priority projects related to watershed management and flood control.
