Commission Meetings Available on Facebook

The City of McPherson has initiated a plan to live stream weekly City Commission meetings on the McPherson Kansas Facebook page. The first video appeared on July 30 and represents the City’s intent to provide accurate, transparent information to the public. Initial coverage is being recorded with basic tools. The City is pursuing recording equipment that will complement current web site features and will allow for quality archiving. Once recording equipment is secured, the City Commission will also live stream weekly Study Sessions where all topics approved at City Commission meetings are discussed.

Previously, the McPherson News recorded City Commission meetings. “We appreciate the efforts provided by Anne Heidel of the McPherson News to cover our weekly meetings,” noted Mayor Tom Brown. “We recognize the importance of keeping our community informed and are taking steps to improve our approach.”

For those unable to watch the live stream, weekly videos will be posted on Facebook immediately following each City Commission meeting. All videos can be accessed at https://www.facebook.com/McPhersonKansas/.
