Paid Call Positions Available
The McPherson Fire Department is now accepting applications for Paid Call Members. Being part of the Paid Call Staff can be used as a stepping stone for those who are interested in becoming a full time firefighter. It is also for individuals who are interested in serving the community through the fire service. The minimum requirements for this position are a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED and you must be at least 18 years of age. You must also meet residency requirements and be able to pass a physical agility test.
Our Paid Call Members are a valuable asset to our department. They are responsible for manning the station and are a back up for second emergency calls. Paid Call Members will receive all training necessary to effectively perform their duties. We will provide them with educational training in Firefighter I & II classes as well as First Aid and CPR. They will also receive hands on training as well as on the job experience. This position offers part-time income as well as life and disability insurance.
